Security Alarms

August 17th, 2007 by admin

It’s becoming more and more clear to me that we live in a dangerous country. I’d say that it wasn’t like this 50 years ago, but I don’t really know that. It could be that everything is much more out in the open now days. Between the television and the Internet, you’re not going to miss a lot. And since we live in a crime enriched environment, it doesn’t hurt to take a few precautions. Especially ones with your home. Consider where you live. It may be a plain, old suburb, just like thousands across the country. Crime is something you here about on the news, but have never experienced up-close. This means nothing. Don’t think that you’re forever safe and free from criminal element, just because it’s yet to happen. That would be naive with a capitol N. Today is the day you should start thinking about a quality security alarm for your home and family’s future safety.

Far too often, people assume that home security systems are all about a siren alarm blaring throughout the neighborhood. Sure, maybe back in the old days. However, this is not the epitome of an advanced security alarm anymore. Think silent. You can purchase an alarm system for your home that actually doesn’t screech and scream when someone attempts a break-in. Instead it will send a silent alarm to the police, which will send them immediately to your home to respond. Trust me; security companies like Brinks and ADT are making a fortune now days on their security alarm systems. They will come to your home personally and set a system up, and then monitor your home at all hours. This is an ideal alarm system for many individuals and families. Your home is secure even when you’re at work or on vacation.

I’m a little old-school when it comes to defending my home. It’s not that I don’t like high-tech security alarm systems, but I prefer something that doesn’t come with a monthly payment. My kind of security includes inexpensive window alarms, dead bolts that can only be opened with a key, reasonably priced surveillance cameras, and sensor lights for the yard. So far this security system has worked great for me.

Sensor Alarms

August 13th, 2007 by admin

There he is! Do you see him? He’s making his way toward your house across the dark field. Sure, he assumes that you have no clue since it’s night time and all. Little does he know, you’re scoping him out this very moment on your PC. That Infrared surveillance system you installed last month is worth its weight in gold. Besides this is better than “Must See TV.” Just as he sets foot on your property, the sensor alarm takes over. Now the entire yard is flooded with white light. The potential assailant turns abruptly, tripping over his own feet. What an idiot! Just then, you pull out that trusty red Ryder BB rifle and pop him one in the keyster, just for kicks. Nicely done! Okay, you may not want to go that far, but you get the picture. A quality security system can come in handy.

One of the least expensive security measures you can take is with lighting. It’s all about the flood lights. These work as great sensor alarm systems. You can place them on three or four different angles of your home, and then when someone or something approaches, the lights will flash on. We had these back when I was in high school. Now, the only thing is, you can’t be too skittish. Obviously just because the flood lights pop on, doesn’t necessarily mean there is a burglar outside your window. It could be a squirrel darting to a nearby tree, or a bunny rabbit searching the grass for food. It’s hard to say. The point is, when your home’s exterior is fully lit like this, no one want’s to be in the limelight. Therefore flood lights work as a great deterrent. Not to mention they’re handy when you pull in the driveway at night. The bright light will guide your way to the front door and ensure you than no one is lurking next to it. So if you’re in the market for an inexpensive sensor alarm, this is it.

I say go with the cameras and flood lights. In reality you can purchase some fine surveillance camera set-ups for a reasonable cost. Get the flood lights at Lowe’s or Home Depot, and find the security cameras on the web. Amazon.com has plenty to offer. Get your home rigged with a quality sensor alarm system now. It will help keep you and the family safe.
