Ron Lake is an acknowledged master of his craft who joined the Knifemakers’ Guild in 1972. The Eugene, Oregon custom knifemaker and author is a member of the Cutlery Hall of Fame and has been called the father of the modern day folding knife. CRKT is proud to present Lake’s first liner lock folding knife design. It bears a strong resemblance to his interframe design known worldwide and exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution. It incorporates the most sophisticated use yet of the patented Lake And Walker Knife Safety (LAWKS(R)), which Ron invented with Michael Walker. Instead of a thumb lever, the LAWKS is actuated by the stainless steel Pocket Clip, yielding both secure lock up and an uncluttered silhouette. Simply click the clip down to engage the lock safety. With the blade open, click the clip up to allow liner release. The open build uses CNC machined 6061 T6 aluminum frames, hard anodized Titanium Gray. The locking liner is 420J2 stainless steel, and the special contoured back spacer is injection molded Zytel(R), all rigidly assembled with premium Torx(R) fasteners. Inlaid Zytel(R) scales feature a unique drilled pattern for grip. Ground in a classic modified clip point with a high satin finish, the Signature blade is made of AUS 8 stainless steel, and is available with a Razor-Sharp or Combination Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point(TM) Serrated edge. The blade can be opened with either hand via two CNC machined oversized nail nicks. The Signature also features Teflon(R) bearings at the blade pivot for velvet smooth action, locked in place by oversize satin finished stainless steel pivot screws of Lake’s distinctive design. Included is a blade pivot screw adjustment tool. Finally, a hand tied black leather fob completes our production Signature, just like Lake’s custom models. Knife Type: Easy Open.
