The Amaryllis ‘Clown’, ‘Hippeastrum’, produces large, lovely white flowers with a red stripe and the flowers are fragrant. Amaryllis are great for cut flowers and they also can be grown indoors. This plant is resistant to deer. Of all flowering bulbs, amaryllis are the easiest to bring to bloom. This can be accomplished indoors or out, and over an extended period of time. The planting period extends from October to April and the flowering period lasts for 7 to 8 weeks. In cold regions, pull up the bulbs before winter, and store them until spring.
