Each bulb can be up to 4 inches across It is a favorite of many chefs because it has a much milder flavor than traditional garlic. Elephant Garlic plants prefer good fertilization and organic soils. Plant very early in the spring. The Garlic plant has long, flat, grass-like leaves that smell like garlic or onion when crushed.
