The Golden Poppy, ‘Stylophorum diphylium’ is like a ray of sunshine with it’s brilliant yellow flowers. It will certianly add a jolt of hard-to-find bright color into shady spots. An excellent plant for the woodland garden. The stems contain a bright yellow sap which was used as a dye by Native Americans. The Golden Poppy likes the evenly moist, rich soil of wooded areas or the spot under a large tree. In colder climates, cover with 3-4 inches of mulch to help it survive the winter.
