Virignia Blue Bells
Virignia Blue Bells
The Virgina Blue Bells, ‘Mertensia virginica’ produces beautiful cluster of purple flowers on short thick green stems. This beautiful wildflower is a great spring blooming plant. During April and May the Virginia Blue Bells will bloom profusely. After a few years your wooded area becomes a sea of blue. As a suggestion you might want to combine them with Hostas. Since the Virginia Blue Bells die back after they flower and the Hostas will cover the dead foliage.
