The Winter Aconite, ‘Eranthis hyemalis’, a fall planted bulb, is one of the earliest spring flowering bulbs to flower. It can often be seen coming up through the snow. The plant produces yellow flowers on very short stems. The entire plant is only about 5 inches tall. They are a spreading plant that make a great addition as a border due to their size. Winter Aconite like moist well-drained soil and grow well in full sun or partial shade.
